CBS Issues Apology for Amazing Race Vietnam Episode; Veterans Accept

The Amazing Race Vietnam Episode has caused CBS to do something that the major television networks are not too keen on doing, but sometimes find they must–apologize.




A yearly contender for an Emmy award, the popular reality show sends people to exotic locations all over the world, and often requires the producers to get creative as they try to intertwine the local culture and history into the race. While largely successful–and respectful–in their efforts the show dropped the ball in the March 17 episode.

In the episode in question, contestants traveled to Vietnam; Hanoi to be precise. During the roadblock they had to memorize a piece of Communist propaganda in order to get their next clue. The scene has cause an uproar among some veteran groups who found it inappropriate.
