About Us

I watch a lot of television. Most folks would probably call it too much, but I think I have an excuse.

You see when I work on things--and I'm a freelance writer (ready, willing, and waiting to work for just about anyone that will pay me)--I don't like silence. Music actually distracts me so I turn on the television.

Sometimes I go for white noise. Sometimes I look to engage my mind. Other times I look for mindless entertainment.

For one reason or another the boob tube is on a lot in my house. If it isn't because of me it is because I'm trying to entertain the kiddos with whatever piece of genius that Disney has come up with (love Phineas and Ferb; if only the kids did...).

One day I was thumbing through the latest edition of TV Guide in that place where I do all my best thinking (you know what I'm talking about guys) and I could not believe what I was reading. According to these guys just about everything was going to suck.

So I watched a few of those sucky shows, and I thought some of them were pretty damn good. They may not have been award winners or the most intelligent material ever written, but they had an entertainment value.

That got me thinking--the critics suck. Who in the world do they write for? The same people that hand out Academy Awards to movies that no one saw?

Then the light bulb went off. Why don't I write up my own reviews? Talk about shows past and present, newcomers and returners and give an my two cents worth.

An opinion by a viewer and for the viewers.

From that--FatTalk on TV was born! So if you know of a new show coming out or if you are wondering if a show that is out is worth watching send me a tweet (@FatManWriting) or leave me a message on Facebook (FatManWriting) and I'll will review said show ASAP!

I will not always get them done the night they debut. There is only so much time in the day, but that's what DVRs are for. Besides, haven't you ever wondered about a show after it starts? I know I have.
